Frog&Kiwi
Who is Frog?
Alexandra was a lawyer for 12 years. She was bored to death in her law firm. One day she decided to learn to fly. Here is where Kiwi comes in…
Who is Kiwi?
Cedric was a flight instructor in a small flying school in Charleroi, Belgium (EBCI). He saw Frog on the tarmac and became her flight instructor. After a few flights with her, he decided he would do anything possible to convince Frog to become his wife. When the flight school he was working for was sold to a business man, Kiwi decided to leave. But he had a plan for Frog: he created his own flight school, so Frog could continue her flight training with him. Frog got her PPL (Private Pilot License). Kiwi proposed. Frog said OK, but only if they crossed Africa in a small airplane together one day…
Team Frog&Kiwi
We represent Belgium and France and our name is a tribute to the countries where we were born (France and New Zealand).
We are participating in the rally under number #13 because we believe (and hope) this is our lucky number:
Frog was born on a 13th…
Kiwi did his first solo flight on a 13th..
Kiwi founded Brussels Aviation School on a 13th…
Frog got her PPL on a 13th…
Frog&Kiwi got married on a 13th…
Here we are, on the eve of our departure for the biggest continent of the world.
This picture was taken by Guy Viselé (http://www.hangarflying.eu/fr) on 8 October 2016 when the Belgian Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA) organised an event in Antwerp for all the Belgian Stampes to celebrate their brand new ICAO Type Certificate! This means our Stampe does not need a “permit to fly” anymore to fly abroad, her airworthiness certificate is now recognised all over the world. Great thanks to the BCAA and in particular to Eddy De Poorter for their excellent work in the last years and this amazing achievement for the Belgian aeronautical heritage.
